In Kentucky a month

Goodness, we have been in Louisville and Kentucky for a month after saying lots of "good-byes" in Buenos Aires. It was so hard to say "good-bye" to Laura, Javier and little Mark Xavier (Marcos Javier). We are so thankful for cheap phone cards and email. Laura, et al, got moved into their new townhouse and are enjoying the bigger space. I have a picture but it wouldn't upload!
It was great to be met at the airport by David, Clayton's brother, his sister, Pat, and her family - Ed, her husband and Andy who just arrived from Japan where he teaches school at an army base just days before. Then there were Khrista and Pete with baby Wyatt, Kara and her son Nicky. It was a wonderful family reunion. We talked and talked and then shared some Papa John's pizza before they all headed back to Hodgenville and left us to unpack and get organized in the house where we are living for the next year. The house is provided by the Walnut Street
Baptist Church for furloughing missionaries. We moved our membership to Walnut Street which symbolized the "last tie" to living in Argentina!
Other highlights of the month include helping my mother celebrate her 90th birthday on August 19th at family get together. We got to meet for the first time our new twin grand nieces, Emma & Lily, who were born on May 30th and are growing quite nicely. We have been able to visit Clayton's mom in the nursing home a few times and also attended a Rock get together. My brother, Ray, suffered a brain aneurysm on last Friday and had surgery to repair it on Saturday. Praise the Lord that he is recovering quite well in the Neuro ICU at the UK Medical Center.
We are enjoying the local library where books and tapes are free! We are at the library now using the "hot spot" for internet connection. Clayton is doing some family research as well.
Our speaking commitments begin in September and we will be quite busy until the end of the year at least.
I have been able to complete all the requirements to get my nursing license reactivated in order to be able to look for work next year. I have joined the Ky Nurses Association as well.
