Packing and sorting
It has been a while since we have written anything! Today seems to be a good time to write some things as we are in the middle of packing and sorting. Actually, we have been doing that for some time now or so it seems. I have a little sense of melancholy today as I realize that a month from today we will be leaving our beloved Argentina to return to Kentucky to live. I know we have plans to return to visit but it will never be the same as living here. I'll try not to dwell on that aspect of it all. We do look forward to the next phase of our lives so that part is exciting to contemplate!
We have had several farewell events already and will continue with those until we leave. All of the coming Sundays have something planned as we say "good-bye" to so many dear friends and colleagues. Who can pack 25 years worth of memories in a few weeks of "good-byes"!
Highlights since the last time I wrote include: a great visit in Kentucky with family; a two-week visit from Kimberly and Craig, a special reception for us hosted by Kimberly, Craig, Laura and Javier (Jonathan contributed from afar); farewell events at several churches thus far with others planned; a special lunch with some very dear friends, the grandparents of our godson who also happened to be there with his sister and parents; lunches with other friends; special times with our grandson, Mark Xavier, especially celebrating his second birthday on June 11, and many other memory making events. We are trying to cram as much in as we can in these last weeks.
